Seeking Tenure Track Faculty

The Department of Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY, invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track assistant position in computer science. We are particularly interested in the areas of systems, software and programming languages, quantum computing, algorithmic and theoretical foundations, and the interrelationships between these areas. Strong applicants in other areas will also be considered.

Rensselaer is poised for significant growth in computer science. For example, Rensselaer has invested significant resources into realizing the potential of quantum computing. It will be the first university in the world to house on campus IBM's integrated quantum system comprising the 127-qubit "Eagle" quantum processor. Rensselaer also recently launched the Future of Computing Institute with a focus on new computing paradigms, infrastructure, languages, and software services to solve challenges facing national and global security including energy, water, and food; climate; human health; and so on.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science or a related area, and they must show evidence of emerging research distinction and a clear interest in graduate and undergraduate education. Successful candidates will have duties that include developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, and service to the department, to Rensselaer, and to the professional community.
