Professor Carlos Varela, Computer Science

 

 

 

Professor Carlos Varela has been selected as General Chair for the IEEE International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud, and Internet Computing (CCCGrid). The symposium is the premier forum for advances in distributed systems, cloud computing, systems for AI/ML, distributed intelligence, and future computing paradigms. CCGrid is to be held May 2027 in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.

Graduate student Fernando Spadea and Professor Oshani Seneviratne win Best Paper Runner-Up Award at the IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (ICBC 2026) in Brisbane, Australia.
